Tube packaging is common for creams, ointments, gels, and even thick liquids. It is also used for solids because it provides a protective layer, preventing the contents from breaking. Plastic tubes, as opposed to aluminium tubes, can now hold a wider range of contents. However, environmentally friendly aluminium tubes and cardboard tubes are still widely used. Tube closures are now available in a variety of sizes and shapes, making tubes the preferred packaging container for many items.

The global Tube Packaging Market was appraised at 36.00 billion tubes in 2017 and is expected to register a CAGR of 8.1% in terms of volume, over the forecast period (2018 – 2026).

Impact extrusion from a small round blank produces aluminium tubes. The wet-in-wet offset printing method can be used to print designs onto the tube. Six tones are frequently used. Finger pressure can be used to squeeze out the filled content. Tube packaging is not only used for the ubiquitous toothpaste or face wash (and other similar products).

Tube packaging is also used to protect, store, and mail a variety of products such as bottles, certificates, posters, and food. Depending on the materials used in the construction of the tubes, the most common tubes are either Aluminium Barrier Laminate (ABL) or Plastic Barrier Laminate (PBL). Closures can be screwed on, flip-top, with hanging hooks, or even plug top, depending on the product. With so many tubes and closure systems available, it can be difficult to determine which tube is best for your products. Clear tubes show the content, whereas opaque tubes allow for more labelling and design options. Additionally, tubes may be sold as is or repackaged in rigid cardboard, especially for pharmaceutical or fragile items. There is no denying the importance of cost in any business decision. Tubes are among the most cost-effective packaging options. Manufacturing costs are relatively low when compared to other packaging materials and methods due to the ease and speed with which tubes can be produced on a large scale. Tubes are also useful for reactive brands that are constantly releasing new products in line with marketing trends. New products can hit the shelves quickly because tube packaging can be produced quickly, cheaply, and in large quantities.
